Helloooooooo!
Alright, so if you're interested to read my little Yatterman premiere report, continue~ If not, don't mind me XD Haha. It's really just for me so I can immortalize this evening! But there is a video of me doing the A no Arashi though~~ So take a quick look if want XD
*************************
So my mother was going to leave for France and I got dropped off at the subway station on the way. I arrived downtown at around 4:30pm and since I didn't eat much for lunch, I got myself a panini and shopped until 5:15pm. The meet-up was one block away from the building. It was hot and sunny outside. The Java U café didn't have A/C XD Or if it had it, it was reaaally hot in there. I met
loverspit and another girl (aah~ sorry I forgot her username >__<). I learned that they were going to wait some more in case more people showed up and that some other girls were already in line and one of them had a Sho uchiwa~ So I went up there and the line outside the building was extremely long. It followed the corner of the street *_*.
Anyway, sporting
kawaii_beela's awesome homemade AAA '08 t-shirt, I spotted the uchiwa and walked towards the two girls that seemed to see me coming too. And then~ introductions, discussions, questions went on for at least half an hour. It was only around 5:30pm or close. Eventually, the two girls waiting at the meet-up place finally joined us and more discussions followed. We were a total of six fangirls lol. Not as many as we thought initially, but it was very nice that way too. :D
I'm not quite sure what time it was when we were finally able to go in, but I guess around 6:00pm. There was a looooot of people. We went upstairs and managed to sit in the middle part, which was really great. We waited a little bit more than half an hour before the staff of the Festival came up to welcome us for this 13th event. From what I could see/hear, the big majority (almost everyone) of the audience were not first timers - as they cheered for the staff and particular people too. It was a really great feeling to see that everyone was in such high spirits so early on.
Then if I'm not mistaken, as we were about to see the movie, they introduced Yoshinori Chiba, the producer of Yatterman. He came in the auditorium wearing Yatterman's costume (Sho/Gan's white suit). It was such a funny moment. If you squinted your eyes a bit, you could maybe imagine in your own bubble that it was Sho...although a "not-as-hot-as-Sho" Sho LOL. Anyway.
Afterwards, they showed a clip of Takashi Miike introducing the movie. I wanted to record it, but I thought it'd bother the people behind me since we were in the dark. So out of respect, I'm just going to describe it to you lol. Basically, he was in the countryside with random people working in fields behind him. And he was so funny, saying "these people work for the film industry, you can see everyone's here, working on a movie" rofl. Takashi also said something like "There's only Fantasia who understands and likes what I do, so I did this movie just for you guys" loool. It was a very humorous video clip and everyone laughed. The audience was GREAT :D!
Then the movie started and I remember clearly that
loverspit yelled out "YATTAAAA~~" which is totally awesome. I love her for that. The first shots of Sho just made us squeal in our seats. In the dark, I could see our bodies squirming in flail~~ I won't spoil the movie here, but it was extremely well done, well thought out and extremely entertaining. I don't think there was one moment that I didn't enjoy. My smile was on the entire time. I laughed so much!! Sho fits this quirky character and embodies it perfectly. Even if I never saw the old anime series before, they made a good job bringing it to life. From what I heard, it was very loyal to the original animated series.
Quick random note: whenever Sho cried out "Yabeee~~" we couldn't help but laugh out loud and point. Other people sitting around us were probably thinking "what the heck are these girls laughing about ....." XD Man, it's so fun to flail at insides between fangirls lol.
We stayed until the end of the credits, of course. Once Believe was blasted through the speakers, we all started to sing along. It was a very fulfilling moment. I mean... probably no one else in the hall understood how awesome it was to hear this song play out so loud in there. I relished these particular few minutes in my heart rofl. It was a wonderful feeling. And to see Arashi in the credits was like a shot of visual awesomeness. Haha.
I wanted to let you listen to how it sounded like. I recorded only the chorus - and yes, I knew the camera wouldn't catch the low-key lighting enough, so you basically just get this black screen for a while when I say "Say hiiiii~~" rofl. But you get the gist. It's not everyday you can listen to Arashi in this way. :D
Needless to say, I enjoyed myself thoroughly.
Once we stepped out of the auditorium (at around 9pm), we took a few pictures beside the one and only poster of the movie (featuring Sho!). And I did my famous genuyn-styled A no Arashi, thanks to
loverspit who agreed to take the video for me. :)
I'll post the pics with the other girls once they agree to it XD
Here is my promised A no Arashi lol. The lighting was kinda low, but at least you can see me do it in front of the poster XD.
Everyone was so nice and sweet. I was really happy to meet them!! :DD *sends some love* We walked (and jaywalked) to a diner restaurant and ate a little something and made rounds of Arashi-related questions. It was pretty cool to be able to flail with so many people in real! lol And another random note...I think a couple of us (including me XD) sang along "Lucky Star" from Britney Spears all of a sudden because it played in the restaurant roffffl....my god.
Then we had to part ways and everyone left two-by-two, which is very cool I think, because everyone had a buddy to go home with rofl. I hung out with
loverspit and we ended up having a cup of coffee to bring the evening to a close. I had a lovely time with her ^__^ We said goodbye half past midnight and we shall meet again at the second screening on the 14th of july! lol
Anyway. I just wanted to thank everyone who came. It made the experience a lot more cooler (I was planning to go alone at first!). I hope you guys get back to Toronto safely and that you had a good time in Montreal! To the other two, hope everything goes well with summer classes! :D It was great meeting you all.
